Your basic IT Support incudes Cyber Essentials as the baseline, with everything else up to ISO27001 available if you need it.
Managing Director
Geoff joined the company, then called Lynx Computing, in March 2008, and worked alongside Ciaran (founder) over the years to build and develop the core business. Ciaran, in the preceding years, had left the world of corporate IT on a mission to bring enterprise level services to the SME sector. We were among the first to exploit emerging technologies, including the Windows Small Business Server and early smart phones, as well being one of the first MSPs to fully embrace Microsoft Office 365.
With a degree in Law and Business, and bringing experience in retail service delivery, Geoff helped to shape the company into the customer service focused support desk that it has since become, backed up with a rock-solid foundation of technological expertise. Investment in the best emerging remote management tools of the time helped drive both end-user experience and service delivery into a new era, and the company re-branded to Macnamara ICT in 2011.
Our goal has always been to deliver the very best possible experience of IT, with security front and center. Now, in the ‘post-COVID’ era, we’re delivering truly what IT companies have said all along, but which was never really the case. Work from anywhere, on any device, at any time. But now, it really works, and it really is secure.
Director
Ciaran Kenny setup the company in 2003 and continues today as director with lead responsibility for security and compliance. Ciaran has been in IT for over thirty years and has worked with several hundred companies over that time, amassing a huge store of knowledge dedicated to making sure organisations of all types and sizes get the very best out of their technology. Ciaran is a Chartered Engineer, Chartered IT Professional and a Fellow of the British Computer Society.
Over the past ten years Ciaran has shifted focus onto information security and compliance. Passionate about learning and training, he has picked up an MSc in Information Security with the world leading Information Security Group at Royal Holloway, University of London as well as an array of industry qualifications including: CISSP, EU-GDPR Practitioner, EC-Council Security Analyst and Cyber Essentials Certified Assessor.
Leaving technology and security aside, Ciaran teaches English as a Second Language and is a keen student of Spanish. Right now, Ciaran is enthusiastically leading Macnamara’s exciting project to transform our business from a traditional IT support company into a full service one stop shop, combining IT support and Cyber Essentials technical security with policy and training for regulatory compliance. And, the next big thing, “I’m really excited to get a chance to use my technical and teaching experience to contribute to the game changing Digital Poverty Project run by our long term partners, The Rio Ferdinand Foundation.”
